George R. Milliken Award

Named by William J. Milliken in memory of his brother, the George Milliken Award recognizes a graduating senior who has exemplified the College’s values through action during their undergraduate career. This award honors a student who has epitomized “the best of leadership” within our community; and whose influence, ideals and involvement will leave a lasting positive impression on the College.

2025 Winner, Bashire Jamil

Bashire was selected for the George Milliken Award because she has consistently embodied the College's values through impactful leadership, deep commitment to inclusivity, and a spirit of service that has left a lasting impression on the Saint Mary's community. As a Resident Advisor and President of the Muslim Student Association, she created spaces for dialogue, learning, collaboration, and faith in action. Her work fostering interfaith understanding, supporting students during Ramadan, and cultivating inclusive programming reflects not only the Lasallian mission but also the enduring influence of a student who has truly exemplified "the best of leadership".
