Professional Overview
Dr. Stephanie M. Robillard is an Assistant Professor in the department of Justice, Community and Leadership. Prior to completing her PhD at Stanford, Dr. Robillard was a middle school English teacher and school librarian in the Oakland Unified School District. Her research interests include Black girlhood studies, critical young adult literature and anti-racist teacher education stems from her experiences working in Oakland.
In addition to her responsibilities as a professor at Saint Mary’s College, Dr. Robillard is a member of the National Council of Teachers of English where she chairs the Promising Young Writers’ Committee and serves as a co-chair for the ELATE Social Justice Committee. Dr. Robillard is also a Literacy Research Association STAR Fellow (Scholars of color Transitioning into Academic Research).
